Les présentes listes recensent les titres sortis exclusivement dans une région en particulier.
Sont considérés comme exclusifs les sorties dans les principaux marchés de l'époque : le Japon, les États Unis et l'Europe.
Des zones comme la Corée du Sud ou l'Asie ne sont ainsi pas pris en compte lors de l'établissement de ces listes.
Par exemple, le jeu Mega Drive Advanced Busterhawk Gleylancer dispose d'une sortie japonaise, mais également coréeenne. Ce titre sera néanmoins considéré comme une exclusivité japonaise.
Citons comme autre exemple Golden Axe III : il existe une version japonaise et une asiatique, mais seule la première compte. Le jeu est également classé comme une exclusivité japonaise.
Ils existent cependant quelques jeux exclusifs aux zones non prises en compte, comme Duke Nukem 3D (Brésil), ou Daze Before Christmas (Australie). De tels cas sont bien sûr signalés dans les listes.
